Progress Heights: the neighborhood New BK built on infill
Established in 2024 on land that did not exist in 2023, with a waterfront facing Man A and the best sunset in the borough.
Progress Heights is the newest neighborhood in New BK and the only one in New A built on land the city made. The Solidification-era infill along the waterfront — between Downtown and the New BK Bridge, facing Man A across the water — was surveyed in 2024, given a name, and zoned for residential and hospitality.
The Registry lists it as 'valuable for residential/hospitality' and the Registry is right: the parcels look straight at the Lower Man A skyline, One World Trade Center to the Empire State Building, with nothing in between but water and the bridge. Nothing has been built yet. Everything has been priced.
The neighborhood's boundaries run from the Downtown grid to the bridge approach. Its first records are expected this year; New A Real Estate and Silvernine Properties have both walked the lots with clerks.
Visit at dusk from the Downtown side, past the library. The skyline lights come on at the same time as the ones across the river in the real thing.
