The beach line goes electric: V Beach in under ten minutes, now without the smoke
Governor Rennick’s electrified line opens this weekend, and the Tiger Bus will meet every train at the Man A end. City Hall’s guide to the trip.
V Beach has been New A’s getaway since the early rail lines reached the shore in the Silent Growth years, and since 2016 the Tiger Bus tourism loop has promised the trip in under ten minutes. The trip is still under ten minutes. As of Saturday, it is also electric.
V Beach Governor Abigail Rennick, a former shipyard engineer who took office in January and is limited by law to a single term, made electrifying the beach line her first project. The last diesel run leaves the shore station on Friday night; the first electric train leaves Saturday at 8:00 AM.
City Hall has extended the fare-free Tiger Bus loop to meet every train at the Man A end for the opening weekend, and the Mayor intends to ride the first one. Juniors will sell cheesecake on the platform, which the Tourism Desk regards as infrastructure.
How to go: take the Metro to Freedom Street, walk the passage to the Tiger Bus stop and follow the gulls. Bring emeralds for the boardwalk; the train itself is free this weekend, courtesy of V Beach.
