Louis Vuitton wraps its First Avenue site in a giant suitcase
The scaffolding at 814 First Avenue now reads as luggage. The eight-floor flagship behind it is due in 2025-style fashion: late, and worth the wait.
Lower Man A woke up to a monogrammed trunk the size of a building. Louis Vuitton has dressed the scaffolding on its 814 First Avenue site as a suitcase, complete with brass corners and a latch three floors tall.
Behind the facade an eight-floor, 35-block flagship is going up on a 12 × 13 lot zoned C5-5, the dense commercial district that runs along First Avenue between Trump Tower and the Federal Reserve. The Registry lists the project as under construction.
Neighbouring owners were unbothered. "It's the best-looking construction site in the borough," said a spokesperson for the Silvernine Properties building across the street. "We'd like to keep the suitcase."

The story’s move on each stock. The NASE prices it in fast — about 74% of it within the hour of publication. 40% of the shock is permanent; the other 60% fades with a 10-day half-life, so 70% of the move is still in the price 10 days later. Right: the price now and today’s change.
