A Chrysler Building rises on Lexington Avenue
Cooper Union's 15-floor, 61-block tower is the tallest project in Central Man A. The Registry values it at $348 million before the first tenant.
The Chrysler Building has a New A address: 104 Lexington Avenue, on the Central Man A side of the avenue's fast-growing corridor. Owner Cooper Union filed the tower with the Land Registry this week as a DB-class elevator building in an R8A contextual district.
At 15 floors and 61 blocks it will be the tallest structure between Broadway and the Lexington lots, three of which New A Real Estate put on the market days earlier.
City Hall welcomed the filing. 'Every crane on Lexington is a vote of confidence in Central Man A,' the Mayor's office said.
