Polls are open across the State of New A until 9 PM
Every poll site in the five boroughs and the Rest of the State opened at 6:00 AM. What voters need to know — and what to bring, which is mostly patience.
Polls opened at 6:00 AM across the State of New A for the general election and will close at 9:00 PM. Anyone in line at 9:00 PM will be allowed to vote.
At the top of the ballot, voters choose a Governor and a Lieutenant Governor, elected together: Governor Kathy Hochul and former City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams for the Democrats, and Long Island Executive Bruce Blakeman and Sheriff Todd Hood for the Republicans. New A’s members of the U.S. House and the rest of the state ballot follow.
Voters must vote at their assigned Election Day poll site, which may not be where they voted early. The Board’s poll-site finder is on the Registry wire. In The BX, the poll site is the homestead with the folding table out front.
No results will be posted before the polls close. The first returns are expected shortly after 9:00 PM — beginning, as usual, with Mill Bergen — and the count will be posted on the Registry wire and the Elections page as it comes in.
City Hall reminds villagers that the Tiger Bus is fare-free, as it is every day, and that the Golem Corps will keep its evening watch on every borough square. Campaigning is not allowed within thirty blocks of a poll site.
