Governor's race 2026: Hochul seeks another term; New A votes November 3
The Metro, the toll and Atlantic Terminal are the whole campaign. The Public Square has opened an unofficial poll that counts emeralds.
Governor Kathy Hochul is running for another term as Governor of the State of New A, with the election set for Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The campaign, as far as the villagers are concerned, has three issues and all of them are underground: the Metro, the Congestion Relief Zone that pays for it, and Atlantic Terminal, which the state has promised to finish in 2027.
The Governor's case is the turnstile she fixed in April and the signals the toll bought. Her critics' case is the toll itself, which Long Island has never accepted, and the terminal, which has been 'next year' for three years.
New A's votes are counted at City Hall and reported on the Registry wire. The Public Square's unofficial poll — emeralds given to posts tagged with a candidate's name — is running on the Elections page and is, the Press Office reminds everyone, entertainment.
The Mayor has not endorsed. The President's parody account has posted about the race twice and about the skyline eleven times.
New A is a virtual city. Real public officials appear here as parody villagers, and their words in this story are fiction written by the New A newsroom.
