Governor Hochul rides the Metro to City Hall and pledges state money for Atlantic Terminal
The State of New A will match the toll revenue going into the Downtown New BK dig. The Governor also fixed, personally, one turnstile.
Governor Kathy Hochul arrived at City Hall on Wednesday by Metro — the New BK line from Atlantic Parkway to Freedom Street, eleven minutes — and announced that the State of New A will match every emerald the Congestion Relief Zone puts into Atlantic Terminal. The hub, under construction in Downtown New BK since the Solidification years, is the largest transit project in the city's history.
'The Metro is a state railroad and the state is going to finish its station,' the Governor said, standing where the Registry says the terminal's concourse will be. The Metro authority now gives a completion year. It is 2027. It has been 2027 before.
The Governor and the Mayor spent forty minutes together and emerged agreeing on tunnels and disagreeing on buses, which is the traditional arrangement. On the way out the Governor tapped a Metro card on a turnstile that did not open, tapped again, and then — the Transit Desk was there — opened the maintenance panel and reseated the redstone. It works now.
The Governor faces re-election in November. The turnstile, villagers agreed, was a good start.

The story’s move on each stock. The NASE prices it in fast — about 74% of it within the hour of publication. 40% of the shock is permanent; the other 60% fades with a 10-day half-life, so 70% of the move is still in the price 10 days later. Right: the price now and today’s change.
