Freedom Street Station, built in 2021 as the Metro's Lower Man A terminus, reopened this weekend after a year-long reconstruction. The 9 × 9 station box now connects to Cocoa Street Station on First Avenue by a pedestrian passage.
The Metro itself dates from the Gentrification years, when the city reopened after COVID with an underground network replacing the redstone rail lines of 2014.
ATA, the transit authority, said ridership on the first day exceeded the old station's record.
