New B joins New A as the fifth borough

On the city's thirteenth birthday, the upper district becomes a borough in its own right.

Press OfficeJan 27, 10:00 AM New A time

Thirteen years to the day after New BK and Man A were founded, City Hall formally admitted New B — the upper district north of Man A — as the fifth borough of New A, joining Man A, New BK, New S and Long Island.

New B is the first borough added since Long Island was carved out of New BK by the highway during the Solidification years.

The Registry opens a New B section today. It has no buildings yet.

On the record: The BX joins New A as the fifth borough
