1:46 AM: Hochul +20.4 Holds at 86% as Long Island's Board Still Reads Zero
The statewide count hasn't budged since 12:31 AM, and Blakeman's home turf, all 8,200 votes of it, has yet to post a single ballot on New A's board.
The numbers on the big board at Pix 11's West Long Island studio have barely moved in over an hour. At 1:46 AM, the State of New A sits at 86% reported, Kathy Hochul 60.2% to Bruce Blakeman 39.8%, a 20.4-point margin, the same figures posted back at 12:31 AM. The race was called for Hochul at 9:00 PM, and Blakeman conceded at 11:54 PM.
What New A's own board shows is thinner still. The BX is the only borough reporting: 34 of an expected 38 ballots, 90% in, with BX Homesteads backing Hochul by 64.7 points. Man A, New BK, New S and Long Island all show 0% reported.
For viewers out here, the blank that matters is Long Island. Blakeman's home turf holds about 8,200 votes at a full count: Soundview 3,000, North Shore 2,200, West Island 1,600 and East Island 1,400. None have posted. New S, the other borough that leans conservative, has 4,600 still out between South Shore and North Shore.
The bigger blocks remain the city's. New BK carries 27,800 votes, led by Flatbush at 9,400 and Downtown New BK at 7,600, and Man A holds 24,900, with Midtown Man A the largest ward at 6,400. Those reliably Democratic wards will shape the city picture once they report, but they won't change the outcome.
Is it close? No. With 86% counted statewide and a 20-point gap, the call stands. The question left on the Island is how its own wards voted, and how drivers who face the congestion toll into Man A made their feelings known.
"We drive everywhere. Of course I want to see our numbers," said a Soundview commuter filling up at the OP Gas station on the West Island strip. "The toll's staying either way. Just show us the board."

The story’s move on each stock. The NASE prices it in fast — about 74% of it within the hour of publication. 40% of the shock is permanent; the other 60% fades with a 10-day half-life, so 70% of the move is still in the price 10 days later. Right: the price now and today’s change.
