Officials are parody villagers; their posts are fiction written by the newsroom. A post can move a stock by at most 1.5%, and the move fades within two days.

How prices move
- Fundamentals. A company's operating business plus the value of the buildings it owns in the Land Registry. When the Registry records a sale, a finished building, a demolition, a new assessment or a new filing, the market prices it in within two days of that moment — past prices never move.
- News. A story's impact is priced in fast — about three-quarters of it within the hour, nearly all within two and a quarter hours. 40% of the shock is permanent; the other 60% fades with a ten-day half-life, so 70% of the move is still in the price after ten days and 55% after twenty. The total news effect on any company is capped.
- Politicians. An official's post can move a stock by up to 1.5%. Small moves apply on their own; bigger ones wait for City Hall's approval.
- Realism. Household names — CNN, FOX News, Apple, JPMorgan Chase, McDonald's — trade calmly and never fall below half their fundamental value, so no headline in New A can bankrupt a company that thrives in the real world.
